Crewe is a railway town and civil parish located in the unitary authority of Cheshire East, within the county of Cheshire, England. It is situated approximately 28 miles south of Manchester city centre and 31 miles south-east of Liverpool city centre.
The town is primarily recognized as a major railway junction and the site of Crewe Works. Historically, it served as a significant railway engineering facility for manufacturing and overhauling locomotives, though its operations have since reduced in size. Additionally, the area has a history of automotive production; Rolls-Royce produced motor cars there from 1946 until 2002, while the Pyms Lane factory on the west side of town currently produces Bentley motor cars.
