Consett is a town located in the County Durham district within the ceremonial county of Durham, England. It is situated approximately 14 miles (23 km) south-west of Newcastle upon Tyne.
The population of the town was recorded at 27,394 in 2001, with a subsequent estimate of 25,812 in 2019.
