Chichester is a cathedral city and civil parish located in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. As the county town, it holds the distinction of being the only city within the county of West Sussex. As of 2021, the parish had a population of 29,407.
The settlement has a long history as a Roman and Anglo-Saxon site, later developing into a major market town during the Norman and medieval periods. Today, it serves as the seat of the Church of England Diocese of Chichester and is notably home to a 12th-century cathedral.
