Castleford

Castleford is a town situated within the City of Wakefield district in West Yorkshire, England. Located northeast of Wakefield, it sits north of Pontefract and southeast of Leeds. It serves as the second-largest town in the Wakefield district, following Wakefield itself.

The town is historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Geographically, it is positioned near a point where the River Calder joins the River Aire and the Aire and Calder Navigation to the north of the town centre. As of a 2021 population estimate, Castleford had a population of 45,106.
