Burton upon Trent, also known as Burton-on-Trent or simply Burton, is a market town located in the borough of East Staffordshire within the county of Staffordshire, England. It is situated close to the border with Derbyshire on the River Trent.
The town is positioned approximately 11 miles (18 km) south-west of Derby and 20 miles (32 km) south of the Peak District National Park. As of the 2021 census, the population of the town was 76,270, and its residents are known by the demonym Burtonian.
