Bristol is a city and ceremonial county located in South West England. It is situated on the River Avon and is bordered by Gloucestershire to the north and Somerset to the south. The city also features a short coastline on the Bristol Channel to the west.
The county encompasses most of the Bristol conurbation, though its urban area extends into several neighboring regions, including South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, and North Somerset.
