Bishopstoke is a village and civil parish located in the Eastleigh district of Hampshire, England. Situated approximately one mile east of the Eastleigh town centre, the village lies on the eastern bank of the River Itchen and adjoins the area of Fair Oak to its east.
The historical origins of the settlement date back as early as 948 AD, when it was recorded as "Stoke" following a land grant from King Eadred to a thegn named Aelfric. The village eventually came into the possession of the Bishops of Winchester, which provided the basis for its modern name.
