Barston is a village and civil parish located in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull within the West Midlands region of England. It is situated approximately 4.5 miles east of Solihull and lies midway between the larger villages of Balsall Common and Hampton-in-Arden. The nearest major city, Birmingham, is located about 11 miles to the west.
The village is geographically positioned inside a large meander of the River Blythe at the western edge of the Meriden Gap. According to census data, the population of the parish was 499 in 2001 and grew to 533 by the 2011 Census.
