Libreville is the capital and largest city of Gabon. It is situated in the northwestern province of Estuaire, occupying an area of approximately 65 square kilometres (25 sq mi) on the Gabon Estuary.
The city serves as a significant port located near the Gulf of Guinea. According to the 2013 census, Libreville had a population of 703,904 residents.
