Manosque is a commune and the largest town in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, situated in southeastern France. It is geographically positioned at the eastern end of the Luberon region, located near the Durance river.
While it serves as the largest municipality in its department, Manosque is not the administrative capital (préfecture). The role of préfecture belongs to the smaller town of Digne-les-Bains.
