La Ciotat is a commune situated in the French department of Bouches-du-Rhône within the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France. It serves as the southeasternmost commune of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis.
The city is located approximately 25 km (15.5 mi) to the east of Marseille and sits at an equal distance from the city of Toulon.
