Voiron is a commune situated in the Isère department in southeastern France. It serves as the capital of the canton of Voiron and has been an integral part of the Grenoble-Alpes Métropole since 2010.
The city is located approximately 25 km (16 mi) northwest of Grenoble and 85 km (53 mi) southeast of Lyon. It has a population of roughly 20,000 inhabitants who are known as Voironnais in French.
