Annonay is a commune and the largest town located in the northern part of the Ardèche department. It is situated within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France.
Although it is the most populous commune in the Ardèche department, Annonay is not the administrative capital; that role belongs to the smaller town of Privas. Other notable communes within the same department include Aubenas, Guilherand-Granges, and Tournon-sur-Rhône.
