Annecy is a city located in southeastern France. It serves as the prefecture and largest city within the Haute-Savoie department, which is part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
The city is situated on the northern tip of Lake Annecy. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 35 kilometres (22 mi) south of Geneva, Switzerland.
