Pamiers is a commune and the largest city in the Ariège department, located within the Occitanie region of southwestern France. It serves as a sub-prefecture of the department. While it is the most populous commune in Ariège, the administrative capital of the department is the smaller town of Foix.
The city is notable for housing the Pamiers Cathedral, which serves as the seat of the Bishop of Pamiers. The current mayor of the town is Jean-Philippe Sannac.
