Châteaubriant is a town located in western France, approximately 350 km (220 mi) southwest of Paris. It serves as one of the three sous-préfectures of the Loire-Atlantique department.
The town is situated within the historical and cultural region of Brittany. Additionally, Châteaubriant functions as the capital of the Pays de la Mée.
