Saverne is a commune located in the Bas-Rhin department within the Grand Est region of north-eastern France. It is situated approximately 45 km (27 mi) northwest of the city of Strasbourg.
The town is geographically positioned on the Rhine-Marne canal at the foot of a pass over the Vosges Mountains.
