Douai is a city located in the Nord département in northern France. It serves as a sub-prefecture of the department and is situated on the river Scarpe.
The city is positioned approximately 40 kilometres from Lille and 25 kilometres from Arras. It is notably home to one of the most impressive belfries in the region.
