Vincennes is a commune located in the Val-de-Marne department in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is situated approximately 6.7 km (4.2 mi) from the center of Paris.
The city is well known for the Château de Vincennes, a historic castle. Although it shares its name with the Bois de Vincennes, the commune does not include the forest itself, which is attached to the city of Paris.
