Villeneuve-le-Roi

Villeneuve-le-Roi is a commune situated in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located approximately 13.7 km (8.5 mi) from the center of the capital city.

The town is notable as the birthplace of the early 19th-century French orientalist Jean-Baptiste Rousseau (1780–1831), who was born on a boat arriving from Auxerre.
