Rueil-Malmaison, often referred to simply as Rueil, is a commune located in the western suburbs of Paris. It is situated within the Île-de-France region and the Hauts-de-Seine department, positioned approximately 12.6 kilometres from the center of Paris.
The commune lies on the departmental border with Yvelines at the Seine river. Rueil-Malmaison is notable for being the largest commune in the Hauts-de-Seine department by area, covering a total of 14.7 km2.
