Cergy-Pontoise is a new town and an agglomeration community located in northern France. It is situated northwest of Paris on the river Oise, spanning across the Val-d'Oise and Yvelines departments. The city derives its name from two of the communes it encompasses: Cergy and Pontoise.
Established in the 1970s, the area officially became an agglomeration community in 2004. As of 2023, Cergy-Pontoise has a population of 220,279 and covers a total area of 84.2 km2.
