Skipanes

Faroe Islands

Skipanes is a small hamlet located on the island of Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands. It is situated within the Runavík Municipality and was founded in 1841. As of August 2022, the settlement had a population of 55 people.

The hamlet forms a tiny conurbation with the neighboring settlement of undir Gøtueiði in Eysturkommuna. These two areas are separated only by a small creek that serves as their border. Notable residents of Skipanes include Terji Skibenæs, who is known as the guitarist for the Faroese Viking Metal group Týr.
