Kolonia is a coastal town and the capital of Pohnpei State in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). It serves as a primary urban center for the state with a recorded population of 6,074.
The town served as the former capital of the Federated States of Micronesia until it was replaced by Palikir in 1989. Palikir is located nearby to the southwest within the municipality of Sokehs. Kolonia should not be confused with Colonia, which is a smaller settlement and the capital of the State of Yap.
