Gununo is a city located in the Wolaita region of Ethiopia. It serves as the administrative capital of the Damot Sore district within the Wolayita Zone. The city is situated at the geographic coordinates 6°55'21"N 37°38'57"E.
The city is located approximately 345 km from Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, and 17 km from Sodo, which is the capital of the Wolaita Zone. Gununo is bordered by several other districts: Sodo Zuria to the south, Boloso Bombe to the northwest, Kindo Koysha to the west, and Boloso Sore to the east.
