Shinshicho is a town located in southern Ethiopia within the Kembata Tembaro Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' Region. Situated at a latitude of 7°12′20″N and a longitude of 37°46′40″E, the town sits at an elevation of 1,875 meters above sea level.
The settlement was founded by a community leader named Ordolo, a warrior who survived a sword attack while defending a local market from bandits during the early days of the town's establishment. Prior to 1977, the town was known as "Ordolo dikuta" or "Ordolo gieyaa."
As of early 2015, Shinshicho had a population of approximately 35,000 residents. The local infrastructure includes 12 substandard motels, along with ongoing construction projects for a modern hotel, a hospital, and an office complex.
