Alamata is a town situated in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. It is specifically located within the Debubawi (Southern) zone and is surrounded by the Alamata woreda.
The town sits at an elevation of 1,520 metres (4,990 ft) above sea level with geographical coordinates of 12°25′N 39°33′E. It is positioned along Ethiopian Highway 2.
