Finote Selam is a town and separate woreda located in the Mirab Gojjam Zone of the Amhara Region in western Ethiopia. It serves as the capital city of the West Gojjam Zone and is situated at an elevation of 1,917 meters above sea level.
The town was formerly known as Wojet before being renamed by Emperor Haile Selassie during the Italian invasion of Ethiopia; it is also referred to as the "Pacific Road." It is located approximately 387 km from Addis Ababa by road and 176 km from Bahir Dar, with an air distance of 246 km from the capital.
