Bahir Dar

Bahir Dar is the capital city of the Amhara Region in Ethiopia. It serves as one of the country's primary tourist destinations due to its proximity to Lake Tana and the Blue Nile river.

The city is characterized by wide avenues decorated with palm trees and various colorful flowers. In 2002, Bahir Dar was awarded the UNESCO Cities for Peace Prize in recognition of its efforts to address the challenges associated with rapid urbanization.
