Samara

Samara is the largest city and administrative center of the Samara Oblast in Russia. Formerly known as Kuybyshev from 1935 to 1991, it is situated at the confluence of the Volga and Samara rivers. The city covers an area of 541.4 square kilometers.

The urban agglomeration has a population of up to 1.22 million residents, excluding Novokuybyshevsk. It ranks as the ninth-largest city in Russia and the tenth-largest agglomeration in the country. Additionally, it is the third-most populous city on the Volga River and within the Volga Federal District.
