Chagni is a town located in northwestern Ethiopia within the Agew Awi Zone of the Amhara Region. Situated at an elevation of 1,583 meters above sea level, its geographical coordinates are 10°57′N and 36°30′E.
The town serves as the administrative center of the Guangua woreda. Historically, Chagni also functioned as the administrative center for the Metekel awraja.
