Castellón de la Plana, also known as Castelló de la Plana, is the capital city of the province of Castellón in the Valencian Community of Spain. It is situated near the eastern coastline of the Iberian Peninsula along the Mediterranean Sea.
The city's geography features the Desert de les Palmes mountain range to the north. Its urban layout consists of a main core located several kilometers inland and a detached district known as Grau, which was developed around the port area.
