Pontevedra is a city located in the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. It serves as the capital of both the Province and Comarca of Pontevedra, as well as the capital of the Rías Baixas region.
The city also functions as the capital of its own municipality, which is frequently regarded as an extension of the urban area itself.
