Sant Andreu is a district located in Barcelona, within the Catalonia region of Spain. It became one of the city's ten official districts following a redistricting process completed in 1984.
The area was named after the former municipality of Sant Andreu de Palomar. This former municipality was the largest in the vicinity and currently constitutes the majority of the neighborhood, with additional portions extending into the neighboring district of Nou Barris.
