Mataró is the capital and largest town of the Maresme county in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the Maresme coast, positioned between Cabrera de Mar and Sant Andreu de Llavaneres. The city is located approximately 30 kilometres north-east of Barcelona.
As of 2021, Mataró had a population of 129,749 residents. It serves as a primary urban center within the coastal region south of the Costa Brava.
