Santa Cruz de Tenerife, commonly abbreviated as Santa Cruz, is a city located in the Canary Islands region of Spain. It serves as the capital of the island of Tenerife and the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Along with Las Palmas, it is one of the two capitals of the Canary Islands.
The city is the main urban center on the island of Tenerife, where nearly half of the island's population resides within or around its limits. As of 2024, the city has a population of 211,436 within its administrative boundaries, while its urban zone extends to a population of 507,306 and an urban area population of 538,000.
