Arrecife

Arrecife is the capital city and municipality of Lanzarote, located in the Canary Islands region of Spain. It was officially designated as the island's capital in 1852. The city covers an area of 22.72 square kilometres (8.77 sq mi).

The name Arrecife is derived from the rock reef that covers its local beach. This namesake also identifies the nearby Arrecife Airport. As of 2025, the municipality had a population of 70,265, while the city itself had a population of 52,079.
