Mijas is a municipality situated in the Province of Málaga within the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It is located on the southeastern coast of the country and belongs to the region known as Costa del Sol Occidental.
The center of the municipality is Mijas Pueblo, which is characterized as a typical Andalusian white-washed village. This historic area is situated on a mountainside at an elevation of approximately 430 metres or 1,476 feet above sea level in the heart of the Costa del Sol region.
