Alcalá de Guadaíra is a town situated in the Andalusia region of Spain. It is located approximately 17 km southeast of Seville, where recent urban expansion has resulted in the town becoming a suburb of the larger city.
Historically known as Alcalá de los Panaderos, the town served as a primary provider of bread for Seville. The settlement is situated on the banks of the Guadaíra River and features watermills dating back to the Moorish period of Spain that remain in the area today.
