Teseney, also spelled Tessenei or Tesseney, is a market town located in western Eritrea. It is situated on the Gash River, positioned to the southeast of Kassala in Sudan.
The city was a significant site of conflict during the Eritrean War of Independence, during which much of the area was destroyed. In the post-war period, Teseney has developed into a governmental administrative center that houses customs and agricultural offices, as well as a military base.
