Tarua

Tarua is a culinary dish consisting of thinly sliced vegetables coated in a rice batter and deep-fried. The dish originates from the Mithila and Bhojpur regions of India and Nepal.

It is particularly prominent in the Indian states of Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, as well as in the Nepalese provinces of Madhesh and eastern Lumbini. In these regions, it is traditionally considered essential for welcoming guests.
