Krum was a historical figure who served as the Khan of the First Bulgarian Empire. He ruled during a period spanning approximately 796 to 803, until his death in 814.
Under his leadership, the territory of the Bulgarian Empire doubled in size, extending from the middle Danube to the Dnieper and from Odrin to the Tatra Mountains. His reign is noted for establishing law and order and developing the foundational elements of state organization within Bulgaria.
