Halaba is a zone located in the Central Ethiopia Regional State. It is named after the Halaba people and encompasses a significant portion of their ancestral homeland. The region is situated within the Great Rift Valley.
The zone's geography is defined by several surrounding landmarks, including Lake Shala to the northeast and the Bilate River, which serves as its western boundary. It shares borders with the Hadiya Zone to the north and west, an exclave of the Hadiya Zone to the south, the Kembata Zone to the southwest, and the Oromia Region to the east. The administrative center for the Halaba zone is halaba Kulito.
