Humera is a town located in northwestern Ethiopia within the Kafta Humera district of the Tigray Region. It sits at an elevation of 585 metres (1,919 ft) above sea level and is bordered by the Tekezé river to the north.
The town serves as a vital regional agricultural center characterized by intensive agriculture. Geographically, it is positioned as the last Ethiopian town south of the border with Eritrea and Sudan, making it a strategically important gateway to Sudan.
