Mijek is a small town situated in the Río de Oro region of Western Sahara. It is located within the Liberated Territories, positioned east of the berm at a distance of approximately 250 km east of Dakhla and 80 km north of the Mauritanian town of Zouérat.
The town serves as the head of the 3rd military region of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. Local infrastructure includes a hospital, and a school was reportedly opened during the 2012–2013 academic year.
