Arish, also known as El-Arish, is the capital and largest city of the North Sinai Governorate in Egypt. It serves as the primary urban center on the Sinai Peninsula and is situated along the Mediterranean coast.
The city is located approximately 344 kilometres (214 mi) northeast of Cairo and 45 kilometres (28 mi) west of the Egypt–Gaza border. As of 2023, the estimated population of Arish was 204,391.
