Marsa Matrouh is a port city located in Egypt. It serves as the capital of the Matrouh Governorate and is situated along the main highway connecting the Nile Delta to the Libyan border.
The city is positioned approximately 240 km (150 mi) west of Alexandria and 222 km (138 mi) east of Sallum. In addition to its coastal location, Marsa Matrouh is accessible from the south via a highway that runs through the Western Desert toward the Bahariya Oasis and Siwa Oasis.
