Sallum is a harbourside village or town located in the far northwest corner of Egypt. It is situated along the short north–south aligned coast of the Mediterranean Sea, positioned near the border between Egypt and Libya.
The settlement is located approximately eight kilometres east of the Libyan border and sits 128 kilometres (80 mi) from the port of Tobruk in Libya.
