Zarqa is the capital of the Zarqa Governorate located in Jordan. The name of the city translates to "the blue (city)."
It serves as a major urban center and is currently the second most populous city in Jordan, following Amman. As of 2015, the city had a recorded population of 635,160 inhabitants.
