Qalyub

Qalyub is a city located in the Qalyubia Governorate of Egypt. It is situated in the northern part of the Cairo metropolitan area at the beginning of the Nile Delta.

The city consists of both an urban area and a rural markaz. Between 1986 and 2006, the population grew from 84,413 to 106,804 inhabitants, representing a growth rate that was higher than average.
